YOUNG, Sally Yim Hua With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of beloved wife and mother Sally Yim Hua Young at the age of 78, on August 28, 2015. Born on September 23, 1936 in Taishan, Guangdong province, China, she immigrated to Canada in 1959 to assume the roles of wife, mother, grandmother and food services worker. Sally's home and work life landed her in both Victoria and Vancouver, where she generously, lovingly, and selflessly cared for her family. She retired from UBC Food Services in 2001. Sally will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her husband Ding, children Steve (Bernice), Ray (Lana), Carolyn (Rob), grandchildren Alicia, Megan, Tyler, Hailey, Matthew and Zachary, and brother Jimmy (Sylvia). Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., at Sands Funeral Chapel of Victoria, 1803 Quadra Street. Interment will follow at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
