Sandra Taylor Obituary
TAYLOR, Sandra Diane "Sandy" (née Midgley)
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Diane "Sandy" Taylor, who left us peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by family and love.
Born in Victoria, BC on September 3, 1952, Sandy was the cherished daughter of Victor and Freda Midgley, and beloved sister to Reg (Ann), Dick (Judy), and Maureen Midgley.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Don, her children Jeff (Angela), Steve (Jasmine), and Kim (Ryan); grandchildren Cayden (Jasmyn), Mya (Caleb), Anthony, Theo, Alexa, Tristan, Jaxon, Claire and Trevor; and great-grandchildren Milo and Oliver - along with extended family and countless dear friends.
Sandy and Don shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, built on a foundation of family, friends, travel and driving their kids to sports. Their life together spanned Victoria, Burnaby, and Markham, Ontario, before returning home to Victoria in 1990. Sandy's warmth, humour, and welcoming nature created lasting friendships wherever she went, especially among her beloved bridge club and travel companions.
An organizer by nature and nurturer at heart, Sandy's home was always filled with love and laughter. Later in life, she combined her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for travel to plan and host with Don, custom tours to the Hidden Gems of the World. Among many special destinations, Italy- especially Tuscany held a special place in her heart. Many cherished trips to Maui also provided treasured memories with Don, family and friends.
Sandy's compassion, intelligence, sense of humour, and ability to bring people together were gifts that enriched every life she touched.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at James Bay Lodge and Broadmead Veterans Memorial Lodge for their kindness and exceptional care.
A celebration of Sandy's life is planned for 2pm November 14, at Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion.
