Sean McKnight Obituary

Sean Christopher Ridley McKnight born April 16, 1962 in Victoria BC, passed away in Kamloops, BC surrounded by family on April 21, 2017. Sean is survived by the love of his life, Brenda and her loving daughter Nicole (Wendell) as well as cherished daughters Emily and Michelle; parents John and Sara; siblings Patrick (Wendy), Cathy, Maureen (Richard) and their families. Sean took great pride in his service of over 25 years as a Corrections Officer for the Province of BC. The family sends special thanks to Jo, Paul, Bob, Kim and Tammy as well as the staff at the Kamloops Regional Corrections Centre, for your love, compassion and support over the past 18 months. It has been truly overwhelming to see the love shared by so many for our beloved Sean. There will be no service upon request. Sean's wish is for his ashes to be scattered at the Shuswap Lake, his "happy place", where he and Brenda spent many summers together making great memories. If so desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sean, only got to see you a couple of times in Kamloops but even for the short time we shared some conversation, it was obvious to myself and Brenda's bro Marc that you two were very happy. Often checked Brenda's Facebook just to see what you guys were up to and was always uplifted by the activities you both partook in. That commitment to living your best life, even when you don't feel like it and your sister's words about what to focus on when living out your final days will serve as inspiration for us all as we think back on who you were. Shine on Sean McKnight and God Bless to you Brenda, Nicole and all of Sean's immediate family who clearly made his final chapter worth living.
