Shane CURRY Obituary

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and loyal friend. He passed away suddenly at home in Victoria, BC. He will be forever missed by his mother, Dianne Curry, his father, Peter Curry, his brother, Ira Hunter, and his sister, Amber Lamoureux. Shane was born in Winnipeg, MN. His mother's first born, he was a loving, kind and gentle child who had such wit and charm. Shane had a brilliant mind, and was gifted scholastically. These last years saw him achieve his lifetime goal of returning to university.

Rest in Peace Shane. Love never dies.

I'm sorry for your loss, and my deepest condolences to Shane's friends and family. I only knew Shane as a student, but he was a wonderful presence in the classroom and hallways. Not only because of his enthusiasm and cheerfulness, but Shane also had a knack for asking the best questions, to help everyone learn better.

I will remember Shane very fondly as a hard-working and kind student in our German language classes at UVic. He loved learning new things and never stopped being curious. He was a stand-up guy who always launched the good questions from the front row. We'll miss him. May he rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Shane. I had the honour of meeting Shane as his landlady this past several months. Shane often spoke very highly and with great love of his family, was so kind, thoughtful, and filled with his studies. It was with great sadness that I heard today of his passing as my sense of Shane is that he is one of the good people that we want very much in this world. May he know great peace. God bless his family.

I had Shane in one of my classes in Anthropology some time ago. He had such a keen desire to learn and was wonderful at making connections between his learning and his life experiences. I'm so sorry for your loss.

with deepest sympathies to Shane's family. While Shane never took a course with me at UVic, we connected through his interest in Iceland and he became a member of the Icelanders of Victoria club. We emailed each other last summer and he told me that he hoped to visit Iceland soon. I'm sure Valhalla has opened the doors wide for this kind and inquisitive young man.
