Sharon Spraggett Obituary

SPRAGGETT, Sharon Pauline
July 26, 1941 - October 8, 2025
Sadly, our Mom, Sharon passed away on October 8th, 2025.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Malcolm, with whom she had a love story that lasted more than 60 years, and survived by her devoted daughters Kathleen and Linda (Riley), her three grandchildren Elliot, Oleanna and Annelise, sister Melvina, brother Jim (Marie), brother-in-law Ralph (Loretta) and many nieces and nephews, especially Cindy and Mark who always gave her unwavering support.
Sharon will be remembered as a loyal and thoughtful friend with a big smile and quick wit. She was a true force to be reckoned with at badminton, ping pong, and Jeopardy, which she particularly loved to win. She brought efficiency and attention to detail to all her endeavours and was a generous host with her home always open to friends and family. Sharon's creativity shone through her innovative cooking, baking, gardening and homemaking and she put these skills and energy to use as a businesswoman when she and Malcolm ran a successful B&B in Shawnigan Lake hosting guests from around the world for many years.
After a life-changing brain aneurysm at 58, Sharon and Malcolm moved to Cowichan Bay, where she demonstrated impressive resilience and positivity and continued to graciously entertain family and many friends she accumulated over the years. No one loved a visit more, and Sharon was always eager to greet her callers with a big hug and a plate of baked goods, and always made them feel like she never wanted them to leave.
Mom, we will miss your mischievous grin, humour, love, warmth and affection.
Love You More.

Dear Kathleen, Linda, and family. When we operated a Bed-and Breakfast in Shawnigan, we became fast friends with your parents. I know you will miss her as I will. I think of them often and will miss her most welcome phone calls.
