Sheila COOKSEY Obituary

Sheila Cooksey (nee Ewing) passed away peacefully while visiting Victoria from Perth, Australia.

She was born and grew up in Victoria, attended UBC in Vancouver, and then fell in love and married an Australian who whisked her away to his country.

She is predeceased by her parents Dave and Eileen, brother Brent, and husband Roger.

She leaves behind her two sons, Mark (Lara), Paul (Jenni), grandchildren Charlotte, Jay, Emma and Henry, her partner Kevin, and brother-in-law Stuart, all in Australia, and her sister-in-law Margaret in Victoria.

Sheila loved her family, her partner, her friends, her work, her tennis club, and travelling the world. She was the glue that kept her friends and relatives connected, and she enjoyed organizing school reunions in Victoria from the great distance of Australia.

Her family had a Celebration of Life for her in Perth on October 23, and we are having one for her in Victoria for all her relatives and friends here.

A Celebration will be held 2-4pm Monday November 21 at the Fireside Lounge, University Club, University of Victoria. Paid parking available in Lot 9. Maps are available online.

If you plan on attending, please email [email protected] for catering purposes and condolences, by November 7.
