Sheridan ANDERSON Obituary

ANDERSON, Sheridan ("Sherry") Adele. Sherry Anderson was taken from her family too soon, at the age of 81, on April 23, 2021 at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit. She lost a valiant 33 year battle with CHF. She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Ron; her two children, Debbie and Ken (Alice); her two granddaughters Tori and Ali; and her brother Gerry (Nancy). Sherry also made a great many friends over the years, both in Alberta and later in BC, in the pursuit of various competitive "dog sports", be it conformation, agility or an obedience trial, first with her in-law's Dobes and Pulik and later, her beloved Norwegian Elkhounds. Sherry spent many years volunteering as a race secretary at Alpine ski racing events in Alberta, right up to World Cup and then Olympic level. In between all of that she also worked at Boy Scouts Canada as a bookkeeper for many years. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their care of Sherry during her final week, and also thanks the staff at Community Plus Home Health Care, and especially Jean, for their care of Sherry over the last 10 months. At Sherry's express request, there will be no funeral or memorial, however, if you wish to honour her memory in some way, you might make a donation on her behalf to the Heart & Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.ca

Dear Ron, Debbie & Ken: We send our sincere sympathy to you on the loss of Sherry. We remember when we lived on Beaufort Road seeing Sherry & Ron coming down the street with their dogs & we had many lovely conversations. She was simply delightful, always smiling & friendly. We hope your beautiful memories will comfort you & bring you peace. Shari & David Stenning

I can't find the words to express my sincerest condolences on the loss of your wife Ron and your Mom, Debbie and Ken. May she be at peace and without pain. Someday, when someone says her name, a smile instead of a tear will come to your faces.

Blessings,

Cate Rayburn
