Sherrill Eyres Obituary
1940 - 2022
Sherrill passed away in Victoria, British Columbia on November 22, 2022 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Norman and by her sister Thelma, who passed away as a baby. She leaves behind her sons Darcy and Pro, her sister Darleen, her niece Tammy, Darcy's wife Wendy and their children Hovey, Capri and Cassis. After 35 years as an elementary school teacher, Sherrill spent her retirement enjoying time with her grandchildren and friends, traveling, walking, and hobbies like scrapbooking. Special thanks go out to the staff of Mount St. Mary Hospital who cared for our mom as they would their own family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 1:30 pm. For those who are unable to attend in person, the Service will be Livestreamed. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mount St. Mary Hospital.

Dear Darcy and Family. I am so sad to hear of Sherrill's passing. I remember her from Torquay but most especially from my time with your youngest girls in childcare. She brought such joy when she popped in to say hi. I will always remember her fondly.

We were good high school friends in Cranbrook. Just lived one block from each other. Such fun times together. Very generous ,energetic and oh ,her smile!

My daughter had Mrs. Eyres for Grade Three at Torquay Elementary School. She was a truly gifted teacher and instilled a love of learning in all of her students. She will be remembered!
