HEIZER, Stephen Rodney
Steve died peacefully in Ladysmith 23rd November 2025.
He was the loving father of Melanie and Sophie Heizer, and husband to Suzanne. He is predeceased by his son Schrader Tad Heizer, and parents Nancy Landwehr and Robert Heizer. He will be lovingly remembered by sister Sydney, brother Michael, and extended family here and in Australia, as well as his very wide circle of friends.
Steve was born in Berkeley, California in 1943. He had a great education and enjoyed his many adventures, including living in Alaska. He immigrated to Canada and studied at UBC before working as a Marine Biologist for 34.66 years. He lived a large and interesting life with enthusiasm, humor and a big heart. In retirement he broadened his interests, including boat building, birding, Tai Chi, gardening, going to coffee or lunch with friends, and of course music and guitar building.
Family and friends will celebrate Steve, 10th January 2026, 1.00pm, Cedar Community Hall. Donations can be made to Parkinson Society BC or Parkinson Wellness Project (PWP) through their websites.
