Stuart Grant Obituary
GRANT, Stuart Cameron
December 23, 1945 - September 15, 2025
With great sadness, our family announces the passing of Stuart (Stu) Grant, on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the age of 79 years old, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.
Stu will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria Leupelt-Grant (nee Uriegas), his dear son, Hugh Grant, of whom he was so proud of, his stepson and friend Gerhard Leupelt and Gerhard's wife Anna Leupelt (nee Veltri) (who baked for him wonderful things), and his grandkids Siena and Andreas, with whom he enjoyed soccer and tutoring math. Also, Stu will be remembered by the extended Uriegas Family, who loved him as one of their own.
Stu was predeceased by his parents Peter and Heather Grant (nee Carter), and his brother Paul Grant.
Stu loved and respected people, especially his many friends from childhood buddies to high school mates and to his race car driving contacts. Especially close were his golf partner Larry Quayle, and early childhood friend Bill Silvester, with whom he learnt to swim in Cordova Bay.
Over the past few years Stu met and became a big part of Maria's group of friends. Stu fit right in, enjoying their company and they became an important part of his life.
A Celebration of Stu's Life will be held On Wednesday October 8, at Sands Funeral Hall, 1803 Quadra St., Victoria B.C. From 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers please donate in Stu's name to the Red Cross or to the B.C. Children's Hospital or the SPCA.

Stuart became a part of our family and he will forever be in our hearts. We will miss his smile, his sense of humour and his singing (maybe not so much). His kindness towards all of us will be missed. Lots of love Stuart. We loved you.
