December 30, 1920 - September 28, 2025
Sylvia passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025 at Victoria General Hospital. She is survived by her daughter Patricia and son Thomas, and was predeceased by sons Gary and Terry. Known as "Baba", Sylvia cherished her 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She worked as an accountant at the Empress Hotel for 25 years, pioneered the West Shore Lawn Bowling Club and, was a devoted volunteer with SenDial, Army and Navy Organization, and St Nicholas Ukrainian Church. Sylvia's home on Gratton Road was filled with friends and laughter before she later moved to the West Shore Lodge, where she found community among her lawn bowling friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church, 112 Caledonia Ave., Victoria BC. Reception to follow. Burial at Hatley Memorial Gardens, 2050 Sooke Road.
She will be remembered always for her love of family, her service to others, and her remarkable spirit.
