Sylvia Watt Obituary

WATT, Sylvia Diane (Wheeley)
March 3, 1948 - December 16, 2024
Sylvia passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Victoria, BC on December 16, 2024.
Sylvia is survived by her sister Jeanette (Mo) & family in SK, her partner Danny, her son Shane (Wendy), and grandchildren she was very proud of: Taylor, Allison, Leah. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Lynn Watt in 2010.
Sylvia was raised in Esquimalt by her parents Elsie and Fred Wheeley. Sylvia met Richard and moved around between Langford and Colwood. They returned to Esquimalt in 1989, where she has enjoyed her family property for the past 35 years.
Sylvia dedicated 50 years to her hairdressing career, mostly at Rose Manor where she styled hair and offered kindness and compassion to everyone who sat in her chair.
She was always busy with home projects, crafting, baking, traveling, and celebrating with friends. She had a lifelong passion for vintage cars and spent many years being social at race tracks and swap meets. In recent years, she created cherished memories while traveling with Danny on cruises, road trips, and enjoying family gatherings.
Sylvia was kind and thoughtful and had a wide network of friends who were like family and she will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday January 19, 2025, from 1-4pm at the Esquimalt United Church in the Wheeley Hall. Weather permitting please bring your vintage car. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation are welcome.

I remember Sylvia well from my younger years, especially Christmas get togethers. She was only a few years older than me and we shared the same name.Sylvia was always very kind to my mom
and Dad, Gordon and Helen Knill. Deepest condolences to Sylvia's family and friends from the Knill family.
