Taryn Hudgins Obituary

HUDGINS, Taryn Leslie
1978 - 2025
Taryn Leslie Hudgins passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, in hospice care at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC at the age of 47. Taryn is survived by her parents, Leslie and Edith (Cook) Hudgins, brother, Christopher, aunt, Phyllis McNutt (Brian) and cousins and extended family in Nova Scotia.
Taryn was born in Victoria but spent her growing-up years in the many places her military family was posted. Back in Victoria she graduated from Mount Douglas High School and then went to Acadia University in Nova Scotia, graduating in 2002. Ottawa beckoned and Taryn spent over 20 years there building a career as an office receptionist, most recently with the Kelly Santini law firm. She became an active member in neighbourhood community garden programs and her "green thumb" extended to indoor plants as well. Taryn's smile and warm and generous nature led to many friendships through her university, work and neighbourhood activities.

At Taryn's request, there will be informal gatherings to celebrate her life in Victoria, Ottawa and Nova Scotia. In remembrance, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, a hospice or palliative care unit, or a charity of your choice.
