Dear Janet and family....I had the pleasure of being invited by Tom to his
cabin on Mudge Island a couple of years ago to interview him and take photos of his extensive decoy collection in preparation for writing an article for Decoy Magazine. The decoys, all carved by Douglas B. Campbell, circa 1930-1940, were used at the Mitchell's Bay, Ontario duck hunting shanty. Tom had been the custodian of the decoy collection since the early 1980's and moved them west to Victoria from Ontario. These decoys are an important part of Canadian water fowling history. When I met Tom I felt I had known him for 30 years, he was an old world gentleman and I will miss him.

Tom was a great friend to have in need. He was a reflective listener and compassionate person. He personally helped me through some troubling times for which I will be forever grateful. My sincere condolences to his family, several of whom I know personally.

Janet and family. I was sorry sorry to hear about Tom. I have known him most of my life and when I think of him it conjures up very happy times. He always had that great spark of mischief in his eyes as well as compassion in his heart. He has left you with his legacy of wonderful memories. Margaret Shaw Wickett
