CHARD, Thomas William January 12, 1948 - May 30, 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas William Chard on Sunday evening. Tom was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He proudly served in the Canadian Navy for over 34 years, on both the East Coast and the West Coast. He served in the first Gulf War in 1991. He loved hockey, 50s cars and 50s music. He was a loving and devoted father and husband. Tom is survived by his wife Jean Chard, son Troy (Brenda), daughter Angela and his granddaughter Amanda Chard. Thank-you to the staff at Broadmead Veteran's Memorial Lodge. Tom, everyone will miss your smile and big laugh.

My sincere condolences to Jean and family. I will remember Tom as he was in Cuba when we shared a scooter cab ride. His laughter was so contagious.

So sorry for your loss Jean, I kick myself for not keeping in touch since we've arrive to the Island. I'll always remember Tom and I arguing about who did what in the wrestling matches when we were stationed in Halifax. Let us know if we can do anything to help you out. Tome will always be in my heart and in my mind.

Years ago I had the good fortune of having Tom as a regular rider on my bus...I enjoyed our little chats..on day he told me a little about his Gulf experience...I've worn my poppy in honour of him especially ever since & will continue to...condolences & blessings to the Chard family
