Kenneth Wilson MD, BC Cancer
Yesterday
Tom, Peggy and family were our first next door neighbours in Cadboro Bay (1980). A beautiful family. Tom did some of his Plastic Surgery training at Bangour Hospital close to my home in Kirkliston, Scotland. We shared many malignant melanoma patients through BC Cancer from 1980 to his retirement. Sending deepest sympathy to his family.

My husband Rob and myself had the pleasure of knowing Tom through his generous hours given to helping our neighbour do some renovations, gardening etc. Tom's energy seem to know no bounds. He was always cheerful, kind, and loved a great good discussion. Tom will be missed, but our memories of him will live on and bring a smile to our faces.

Tom was a pickleball colleague. A kind and considerate man, a true gentleman whom I will miss.

I had the good frortune to be treated by Dr. McQueen many years ago for a hand issue. He was extremely pleasant and answered all my questions clearly. I had surgery done, and it was a great success. I have always told people who were referred to him that he was a wonderful doctor and that they would be in good hands. May he rest in peace.

What a full life he lived! After hearing of his passing, this photo took my breath away ... we both feel that this is how we knew him. This is how we saw him at family parties. Oh, how he loved his grands and made sure that he gave each of them quality time. To say that he will be missed, is an understatement. Rest in Heavenly Peace, Tom

In March 1983 Tom McQueen reattached my thumb after I was attacked by a random crazy person. His work was so excellent I was playing music again within six weeks, and his sense of humour helped me deal with a rather horrifying experience.
We would run into each other at the hospital on rare occasions after that first meeting (I worked mainly nights) and I got to know what a good man he was. His family must be devastated. Hopefully they will be comforted by the memory of a life very well lived and the realization that he helped literally thousands of people recover their lives after terrible trauma.
Pericles said a man's life should be judged by how much better the world was for his having lived. I am sure he would agree that Tom McQueen's was an overwhelming success. Rest in peace.
