SOLLOWAY, Tibby ( nee Gladwell)
1955 - 2025
On September 13th, after a short but courageous fight with cancer, "the baby bicker" left this world.
She was the best of us, and a hug from Tibby was a big, tight, circle of love. No one hugged like Tibby.
Golfing, sailing, quilting, biking adventures with the "Bickers", travelling with her best pal Jude, and always volunteering for numerous Island charities & Cowichan Valley events, Tibby wasted no time both helping everyone & working on community projects.
From Brownies to Guides to the MS Society, community theater, Weight Watchers to grape harvesting at Saison, Tibby was always there.
Predeceased by Doug, her husband of 45 years, her parents Harry & Caroline Gladwell and leaving behind her siblings Kirsty, Mary, Bill, Allison, numerous nephews and nieces and her big dog Fred, "Little Miss Sunshine's" big, warm smile will be missed by the hundreds of friends she left behind.
A very special thanks to her much loved biking group "The Bickers"; to all the friends who spent time visiting her in hospital; to everyone who worked so hard to care for her garden, treasured bonsai collection & to organize her house so all would be perfect on a hoped for return.
Thanks also to the hospital staff in the Victoria & Cowichan hospitals.
A celebration of Tibby's life will be held at the Maple Bay Yacht Club from 2-4pm on Saturday, October 25th.
In lieu of flowers & if desired, a donation to any charity of your choice or simply a big unexpected hug to someone you love, would be Tibby's wish.
