Toleta Kerr Obituary
Toleta Martha Kerr, lovingly referred to as Tootie by her aunties, Terry by her friends and family and Grannie Goodheart by her grandkids, passed away peacefully at 97.
Terry was born June 27, 1926 in Victoria, BC and lived there until she was 94 when she moved to Campbell River to be closer to family.
Terry passed away peacefully in Campbell River, BC on April 13, 2024, and we like to think she had a remarkable reunion with all of those she loved so dearly that had passed away before her. Terry's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her surviving children: Diane Drake of Fife, Washington; Dave Kerr (Marg) of Coombs, BC; and Jo-Ann Wallis (Dan) of Campbell River. She is also survived and will be deeply missed by her 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at McCalls in Victoria at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would honor Terry's legacy, a cause close to her heart.
As Terry's family and friends bid her farewell, they carry with them vivid memories of her sitting at her kitchen table in her pale pink housecoat, chuckling at the Sunday comics, raking up fallen apples and standing out on her front porch waving them out into the world. Though she may be gone, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her love, kindness, wit and serious sass.
