I did not have a sister, but I had a best friend in Valerie. She was like a sister to me. We went to school together and we were in each other´s weddings. It was Val, Jeff and their brother in law BobThompson that set Gary and I up on a first date. That was 45 years ago and we are still together. Our family´s spent many Boxing Day Luncheons together.
Valerie was a very loving, caring, happy go lucky person. She had a wonderful family with brothers and sisters: Bill, Bev, Shirley, Bruce, Ken and Debbie. The love of Valerie´s life was Jeff. As her health deteriorated she shared with me how wonderful Jeff was at taking care of her and how lucky she was to have him.
The other loves in her life were her children: Jesse and Lisa.
Her grandchildren were very important to her as well: Hannah and Liam. Valerie and Jeff hated the miles that kept their grandchildren from them.
It was a dream of Valerie´s and jeff´s To build a year round home at their property in Shawnigan Lake, but that did not come to be.
Valerie made friends very easily and many stayed friends to the end. My sincere and deepest sympathies to all that are mourning her passing. Valerie will be missed but never forgotten.

My sincere condolences to Val´s family. I have known Valerie since we were very little, her grandparents were our next door neighbours in James Bay and We used to play together often. We reconnected in later years in high school and again as adults. I will miss our chats on the phone over the years but also her loyalty to our friendship. Rest In Peace my friend. I will miss you !

We have been thinking of and remembering our dear sister Val. We will always remember her quirky sense of humor and happy personality. She was always upbeat even in the most trying of times. Her love of family was always evident and we will miss her fountain of family information! As time goes by our grief will fade but her memory will remain bright forever. Our thoughts and love go out to Jeff and family.

We have been thinking of my sweet sister Valerie, she had the biggest heart, had the biggest smile and was always happy. Valerie had a sense of humour right to the very end, I am going to miss talking to her every month. She will always be in our hearts.

We have been thinking of, and reminiscing, Valerie for the past month. We will always remember her beautiful smile, sense of humour, her love of her family. Shawnigan Lake was her happy place where she shared many times with her family. We will cherish all the memories of our lovely sister who will be in our hearts forever. All our love to Jeff and the family. Bev and John
