Verne Stables Obituary

STABLES, Verne Frederick It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Verne on December 30, 2020. Verne was born in Victoria, BC in 1932 where he grew up with his brother, Neil. Verne became a member of the RCMP and it was during his first posting to Maple Creek, Saskatchewan that he met his wife, Lynn. He worked with the RCMP in various cities across Canada until taking an early retirement in 1978 and moving back to Victoria with his family. Verne then continued on in his career, working with the Attorney General's department until his retirement. Verne enjoyed living in Victoria and had a very happy life, full of love for his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and active in the fellowship at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Sidney. Verne leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn, daughter Trish, son-in-law Ken and cherished granddaughter Katelynn. He was a generous, kind and loving man and he will be greatly missed. We would like to thank all of the staff on the Saanich Peninsula South Unit for all of their wonderful care and kindness given to Verne. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallgardens.com
