Victor JOHNSTON Obituary
JOHNSTON Victor - died peacefully August 21, 2004, in his 83rd year, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of 57 years. He was predeceased by brothers Walter and Herb, and survived by brothers Jack (Florence) and Dr. Albert (Dr. Peggy), sister Maureen Bailey and sister-in-law Betty Johnston, sons Victor (Susan MacLean) and John (Louise), grandchildren Laura and Mark. On graduating from UBC he joined the RCAF. He then obtained aMaster of Commerce from the University of Toronto. Joining the federal civil service in 1946, he served in the Dept. of Labour, Defense Production and Treasury Board, retiring in 1982 to Victoria. He was active in Rideau Park United Church (Ottawa) and Gordon Head United Church (Victoria). Margaret and family thank the staff at Broadmead Lodge and Dr. & Mrs. John MacPherson for their care & support. Friends and family are invited to a memorial reception on Friday, August 27 at 10 am at First Memorial Funeral Services Chapel at 4725 Falaise Drive with a reception to follow in the Garden Room. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or Lodge at Broadmead gratefully accepted.
