Victoria CLAYARDS Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Vicki on January 9, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank Binks and Shirley Allan, and her sister, Terry Binks. She leaves behind her sons Jason and Brian, grandchildren Declan, Annalise, and Riley, brothers Bruce (Ellen), Alan, David, Robert (Lana), and Gerald, sister Pat VanBuskirk (Peter), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

After decades of moving around Canada, living mainly in Calgary, Vicki returned to Victoria. She lived with her sister Terry, becoming an amazing caregiver to her as Terry's health declined. Vicki had many friends in her apartment community and valued their wonderful, supportive friendship.

Vicki was known for her baking skills, and she often shared her delicious cookies, muffins, cakes, pies, tarts, and apple crumble with her sisters, friends, and the caregivers, doctors and nurses she met through Terry.

Her family, friends, and all who knew her will dearly miss her bright blue eyes, smile, and the warmth and love she brought into their lives. Vicki's legacy of kindness, generosity, tenacity and baking artistry will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

A private family ceremony will be held in her honour.

To the family:
Vicky, we called her Hollywood
When she came to Lansdowne
Jnr high, and from there, we were friends. What comes to mind she put cigarette loads in my smokes. Party at her mom's and me in the freezer handing out people's beers. Cruising Douglas St..The surprise party for me and getting the call "The Ham is missing." Her smile and laugh was wonderful. She had fun, lived life and most of all loved hard.. We remember her saying " without us she couldn't imagine how her life would have been." Hugs to the family

Pat, I was so saddened to hear the news when you shared with us in January. I remember Vicky´s laugh, very distinct. She was always fun to be around when we were younger.
I know what a wonderful sister you were to her, and, your other siblings. I know this has been hard on you but just remember all the wonderful times and memories you have.
Love to you and the rest of your siblings.
Your friend,
Crystal Liimatta (Harwood)
