Violet Margaret BERG

BERG, Violet Margaret August 4, 1922 April 20, 2012 Violet passed peacefully in her home with family. She is survived by her children Debra, Douglas, Brian and Kevin, grandchildren Christopher, Hailee, Hannah, Jonathan and Jessica, and her great grandchild Tiauna. A dedicated mother, grandmother and homemaker, Violet had a long, full life, loving and loved by her family, as well as many years of service as a caregiver at Rose Manor. Originally of Melville Saskatchewan, Violet, with her husband Palmer (d. 2008), were long time residents of Victoria, and local fixtures in Fernwood their home for over 50 years. Her door was always open for coffee and chat. Violet made an impression on all who were lucky enough to know her. Good, bad, but never indifferent, she always had a strong opinion tempered by great wisdom and you were likely to hear it. Her indomitable spirit and determination were equally inspirational; our lives are richer for it. Violet will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Dr. on Tuesday April 24 at 2pm. In her memory, an informal reception will be held on Tuesday April 24 at 1337 Gladstone Ave between 4 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice Foundation.
