Mr. Boyes taught me in grade five at 'Maggies Junk Shop". I remember him as a very good teacher with the ability to capture the attention of a room full of miscreants either by passing along snippets of his Bomber Command experiences or an unexpected cuff on the ear.

After sixty years I still remember him fondly and thank him belatedly for his tutelege and cannot help but wonder if we will ever see such illustrious pedagoges again.

To the Boyes Family. Mr. Boyes was my Gr 7 teacher at Margaret Jenkins while he was also V.P. I remember him as being very tall, having a loud and lovely laugh, having a sense of fun, participated in our combined dance class with Mrs. Leacock's class, and being one of my favourite teachers. I am sorry for your loss and I am happy with my memories. Debbie (Johnstone) Williams

Dear Muriel and family,

I will always remember Walter with fond memories. The 5 years I worked with Walter as his secretary at Tillicum School were always exciting and full of surprises. He will be missed by all but especially the Legion lunch bunch. My sincere sympathy to you and all your family.

To the Boyes family:
Mr. Boyes was the principal at Lampson when I and my sisters attended there in the late 60's early 70's, we remember him fondly as he was always so very kind and generous to us girls. Always had a smile for us. Sorry for your loss.

Dear Muriel, Bonita, Patricia and Susan, We were very sad to hear of Walter's passing. He was our VP at Margaret Jenkins School and my mother Ruth's Principal at Lampson when she worked with him as a teacher's aide. Mum always remained a big fan of Walter's and I remember he kindly agreed to tutor me in Math one summer when an experiment in "go at your own pace" at Oak Bay Jr. went awry. We are grateful for the kindness he always showed us and we will find a special gesture to make in his honour. Please accept our sincere condolences.
