Walter Marczak Obituary

MARCZAK, Walter September 29, 1911 June 14, 2005 Passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital, 7CN, while listening to the classical music he loved, with his daughter Dodie at his side. He lived surrounded by the love of his family: Hilda, his beloved wife of 59 years; daughters Dodie (Steve Miller), Karyn (Erhard Laslo), and Susan (Manuel Altamirano); and his four much loved grandchildren and three grandchildren by marriage-Joni Miller Laurie (Miller) Marczak (Conan Phelan), Jeremy (Miller) Marczak (Cailey), and Josh Miller (Sabrina). He was gentle, loving, and wise and an inspiration and role model to many. He loved to create with his hands and was a talented musician. He had a great curiosity and knowledge about the world around us, and transmitted his love of learning, of travel, and of exploration to his children and grandchildren. He kept his wonderful sense of humour to the end and could tell a joke like no one else. He was physically and emotionally strong and generous and truly the head of our family. We are thankful for the time we had with him no one can ever take his place. Special thanks to Dr. Eric Shafonsky, and Dr. Alec Dougall and the nurses and staff of 7CN. No funeral service by request. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date. 103553

Hilda, Dodie, Karyn, Susan and families,

I am immensely saddened by your loss. Walter was a true role model for me and I will miss his wonderful smile, his great sense of humour and his asking about "Little Moustache". I have many happy memories, but you have so very many more to treasure. My thoughts are with you all. Sincerely, Helen
