Wayne CANNON Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Wayne Cannon at The Royal Jubilee Hospital, the same place where his journey began. A devoted family man and community leader, Wayne had a lifelong passion for mentorship, coaching and sports. He umpired for over 30 years, cherishing every game - especially those officiated alongside his daughter, Anna. His dedication to youth sports and fair play brought community together and left a lasting impact on countless lives. Beyond the diamond, Wayne was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, daughters, Vicky (Micha), Anna and Jill, and grandchildren Kayla, Sam, Leo, Ruby and Charlotte. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Doris) and nephews Keith and Clint.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to KidSport or any youth sporting organization of your choosing in his honor.

Although I knew Wayne from our youth around Allenby Park and later umpiring many of "my" games, it was the years that he was Softball BC District UIC and I was District Minor Rep that I remember most. We quaffed a few pints at Softball BC meetings, laughed and were serious when appropriate. We shared a love of softball. Miss you.
