Wayne Page Obituary
PAGE, Wayne Robert
August 8, 1939 - December 29, 2025
Wayne passed away after a long, well fought battle against Lewy Body Dementia.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 66 years, Betty; children Shelley (Dan), Bob (Sherry) and Melanie (Dylan); grandchildren Cameron, Meaghan, Kirsten, Bobby, Scott, Cheyanne and Kyle; twelve great grandchildren; sister Lois, brother Bruce (Carol) and brother-in-law Bill Morris; also many nieces, nephews and friends.
Wayne was born in Arrowood, Alberta and lived his young life on a farm. The family later moved to Calgary where Wayne completed his education attending Nazarene College in Red Deer. After College Wayne moved to Edmonton and was employed in construction. He met Betty, his forever love, in 1958 and they were married in 1959. They moved to Vancouver in 1960 and their first child, Shelley was born in 1962. In 1964 the family moved to Victoria as Wayne had accepted a managerial position with a Home improvement company. In 1965 they moved into their family home where they remained and still call home! A few months later in 1965 they welcomed their second child, son, Robert, followed in 1970 by their second daughter, Melanie, which completed their family circle.
Wayne remained in sales in the Home Improvement business all his working life, laterally at Sears. He had a passion for the ocean and boating and joined Capital City Yacht Club where the whole family enjoyed many boating adventures. He also enjoyed RVing both in the early days with the kids in a tent trailer and later in a cozy trailer where he and Betty enjoyed driving across Canada from shore to shore to shore, and much of the States. Wayne also built a family vacation home on Pender Island where lots of good times were enjoyed by family and friends. We often referred to those times as a "Gathering of the Clan" and quite the gathering it would be!!!!
He was a member of the Gordon Head/Victoria Lions Club for over three decades and enjoyed working with the Club and the camaraderie of fellow Lions.
First and foremost was his unconditional love and concern for his family.
Celebration of Life will be on January 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., at Victoria Church of the Nazarene, 4277 Quadra Street. Thank you to Dr. Govender and Team of Monarch Health Solutions and to Dr. Malone. Donations in Wayne's memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada.
