Dear Jack,
You have been in my thoughts this past month, and hope you are finding some peace in knowing that Wendy is finally able to rest. The love and courage you demonstrated, throughout the ravages and transitions of Wendy's illness, is an inspiration to all of us. I'm sorry I did not know either of you when Wendy was healthy, but I trust those earlier memories of your lives together will live on in your heart. I also trust you will find the inner strength to move forward with your own life.
Hugs, Adrienne

Sylvia and I were saddened to hear that Wendy had passed away. Unfortunately we were unable to join in with you last Thursday but we were there in spirit. Donna Miller told me that night what a moving tribute it was for Wendy. What great memories we had during our many years in Kiwanis and the hard work everyone put in to make Port Alberni a better place to raise a family. Wendy was a great person and it will difficult for the family to function without her, but she will be with you always in spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Your friends, Greg and Sylvia McInnes. Rest in piece my friend

To you all....
You know you are like family to me. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom will be greatly missed by so many. We have shared some great memories together camping and at the beachhouse, not to mention sleepovers, Boxing Day parties and back to school shopping. Your mom was in the middle of it all, always wanting the best for everyone. Two quick memories I have out of so many: her silver dollar pancakes after a sleepover and all she did to help with my wedding, including hosting the only shower I had. There are so many more times shared that are all happy and fun memories for me. She (and all of you) will always be an integral part of my childhood and growing up. May you hold on tight to your favourite moments and find comfort in knowing that she will always be in your hearts and part of who you have become today.
While I can not make it to the service, know that I am thinking of you during this difficult time.
Much love,
Laura (Riel and Liam)

It is of great sadness I feel when hearing of Wendy's passing, but I also find myself smiling, remembering all the good times and funny things that happened to Wendy and myself while working together at Canada Post.
Xmas stands out. Especially the last few weeks before the big day. Everyone worked so hard and were so tired out, just dragging themselves to work each day and telling each other how quickly they fell into bed each night exhausted, except for Wendy who spent a few hours each night writing out Xmas cards and how she wrote a paragraph or so in each card. I know this was true as she would bring the cards to work and mail them. I asked how do you concentrate and keep your eyes open? She said it did became more difficult as one night she fell asleep and woke up with the pen in her hand but carried on, this speaks volumes about her character. Each year at Xmas I would tease her about how many cards she did for that year. She would just laugh as she loved to laugh even if the joke was on her.
Wendy was almost always in a good mood, complained seldom and very helpful to the other workers and customers alike. A very special person whom everyone liked.
I will remember her always with deep affection

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Shaelene and the rest of your family. I'll always remember your mom sitting in her lawn chair bundled up and keeping score at our softball games as well as opening her heart and home to both Carla and I. My love and support will always be here for you. Connie Emond (Mesic)
