Wesley BACKIE Obituary

BACKIE, Wesley Albert February 15, 1927 - July 06, 2013 Wesley Albert Backie passed away peacefully on Saturday July 6, 2013 at Mt. Edward Court, surrounded by family and friends. Born February 15, 1927 in New Westminster, he lived in Victoria since 1957 where he met Irene, his wife of 36 years. An active member of AA for 52 years, he founded many local chapters. Wesley was a positive force in many many lives. A celebration of his life will be held at Chown Place Activity Hall on Sunday, July 14, 2013 between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mustard Seed are requested. Thanks to all his friends who visited him and kept him in their thoughts and prayers. Many thanks to the loving, caring staff of Mt. Edward Court. Wes was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Mentor and Friend. His generous spirit will be missed by all. Who Loves Ya Babe!!! Catch You Later. Wes.

I really liked the photo of Wesley with the caption: "Who loves ya' Babe" and tried to find some photos from our many enjoyable visits with Wesley and Irene in the past.I will send them on when I find them. I can see from that photo the charm and the looks that Irene fell for so many years ago. My condolences to you Irene, and to you Ron and family. I will always remember: A life unexamined is not a life at all, you might just as well not have been here!......is what you always said and is so true. I do examine my life Wes and you were a big part of it all for over 3 decades of my life. We will all miss you greatly. Your eyes always smiled and always loved to see you. May your meeting with all our passed on friends in the fellowship of the spirit be a joyful one!
