Wilhelmina GROOT Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wilhelmina Groot. Born in Amsterdam, Holland, Wilhelmina was the second of five daughters. Her husband Frank, daughter Sandra and herself immigrated to Victoria in 1967. Their first excursion was to Dallas Road where they thought Victoria was the most beautiful place they had ever seen.
Wilhelmina was an ambitious person and was very accomplished in every endeavor she set her mind to. She was an amazing seamstress, an esteemed employee of Miss Frith's, and went on to open a successful Esthetics studio in Cordova Bay for 30+ years. Her daughter Sandra worked alongside her for 20 years and together they shared many great memories and enjoyed a wonderful and loyal clientele.
Wilhelmina is now reunited with Frank, her husband of 50 years.
Forever in our hearts, daughter Sandra, son-in-law Tracy, grandchildren Evan and Brianna, and great grandson Bruce.

A private celebration of Wilhelmina's life will be held at a later date.

Wilhelmina was my esthetician for many years and her dear husband Frank was the best painter I have ever had....Wilhelmina and I used to have wonderful chats about her homeland and family which she adored and the closeness that her and Frank had....We used Frank many times and got to know him well. When I would go to see Wilhelmina he would often be working in his lovely garden.... Such a lovely couple. Our condolences go out to her family she will be sadly missed. Sheila and John Orr

I recognize my aunt from the photo. Strange. Unfortunately I only saw her a few times when she came to visit family in the Netherlands. Nice memories.. Lots of strength and courage for your loss...
