William HIGGINS Obituary

Bill passed quietly in the presence of his large family in the wee hours of November 18 after a long battle.

He is survived by his loving wife Beverley of 65 years, sisters-in-law Merillyn (Mike) and Stella, daughter Janice (Ian), sons Jerry (Christine) and Kevin (Deborah) and grandchildren Sarah, Jennifer, Amber, Paul, Jesse, Michael, Joshua and Courtney, niece Norma(Terry) and nephew Rick (Deborra).

Thanks to extensive medical care from Drs. Wylie, McCracken, Antonsen, and Grimwood, the nursing and care staff at the Jubilee Hospital's Fourth and Fifth floors, VIHA - Gordon Head/Oak Bay branch, and the nursing and care staff at St. Charles Manor.

A steadfast friend to many, Bill was a teacher and a counsellor to his children and grandchildren.

To his wife, he was a loving husband, a life-long companion, and a true rock of support.

A Memorial Service will be held December 1, 2018, at 1:30 pm, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Douglas and Courtenay Streets.

My condolences to Bill's family. I knew him when I worked in the Nelson Regional Highways office in the 1960's. He was our office manager and a great mentor and friend to us.
