William Hindle Obituary

HINDLE, William Roy 1925 - 2022 Roy (The Flying Pill) passed away peacefully January 11, 2022, aged 96 at Berwick House, Victoria, BC. Loving husband of Joyce (d 1987) and father of Robert (Jennifer). Beloved grandfather of Sarah (Aaron), Scott (Colin), and Thomas (Sabrina). Great-Grandfather of Oscar and Baby H-H. In WWII, Roy trained as an RCAF pilot then tranferred to the Royal Navy. After VE Day, he trained as a pharmacist at UofT. He then re-joined the RCN/CAF medical branch, serving 31 years across Canada. Always learning and applying himself, he was skilled in X-Ray tech, photography, welding, upholstery and just making it work. Many thanks to the nurses and staff of Berwick House for their kindness over the past 3+ years. Funeral Services will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 am PST. Roy-- Remembered with MUCH love and respect for his long participation in the life of St. Peter's, Lakehill, and awesome service on our Abbeyfield Board, and support for Abbey home residents, in matters financial and much more. For him, Diolch i I'Or ("Thanks Be To God")!
