William Lloyd Obituary

LLOYD, William H. "Willie " Aug. 16, 1932 Dec 3, 2005 Bill passed away with his family by his side. He fought a brave battle with cancer, a condition likely contributed to exposure to asbestos, retaining his characteristic sense of humour and tenacity to the end. Surviving Bill is his wife, Verna, his sons Steve (Helena) of Surrey, and Will (Ada) and granddaughters Vanessa and Julia of Victoria. The girls (his "Natalie Wood " and his 'Little Jewel ") brought years of joy to Bill's life. He would often be seen (and heard) cheering on our various sporting activities. Born in Rossland BC, Bill is predeceased by his parents, John and Gladys, three brothers Tom, Jack and Ron and three sisters Phyllis, Nina and Eileen, and survived by brothers Bob (Marie), Gordon (Dorothy) and AIlen (Phyllis) and many nieces and nephews. Bill entered the Navy in 1950 in Cornwallis as an Ordinary Seaman and retired in 1982 as a CPO2. He served in the Engine Room on various Frigates and Destroyers on the West Coast, taught at the Fleet School and Fire Field, and finished his service at the Fleet Diving Unit. We wish to thank everyone who took part in Bill's care during the last few months: Dr. A. Walton, Dr. Poulson, Dr. Wai, Dr. Dewar, Dr. Pearson, Home Care Nurses Leslie and Judy, and the caring staff at Victoria Hospice. No service by request. "Finished with Main Engines " 184463
