William Mann Obituary

MANN, William Tyley It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dad on June 14th, 2007. Dad was predeceased by his wife of over fifty years, Daima, in 1996, and is survived by his children, Kathy (Glen), Margot (Bob) and Brian (Catherine). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mark, Paul, David (Crawford), Anne, Elizabeth, Sarah, Christine, David (Mann) and John. Dad served as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II and was proud to teach accounting at Royal Roads Military College for many years. He was also a member of Kiwanis for over fifty years and participated in their meetings for as long as he was able to do so. Dad practised with "Mann, Moulson" Certified General Accountants until his retirement at age seventy. He was also past president of the Canadian Certified General Accountants and took great pride in his participation in all aspects of the profession. Together with Mother, Dad travelled the world and was fortunate enough to play golf even in Africa. He was a member of the Victoria Golf Club for many years. Dad was especially fond of gardening and each year his flowering border was a pleasure for everyone passing the family home on King George Terrace. Dad spent most of his final years at Sunrise Assisted Living and was especially thankful for the care and attention he received from the staff. His final months were spent at Central Park Lodge Extended Care and we wish to acknowledge the excellent nursing care he received. A special thanks goes to Dr. Ted Rosenberg who devoted a great deal of time to helping Dad in the final months of his life. Flowers are gratefully declined and in lieu of flowers anyone wishing to do so may make a donation to the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson's Center, 831 Darwin Avenue, Victoria, B.C., V8X 2X7, in Dad's memory. A funeral service will be held at St. Alban's Anglican Church, 1468 Ryan Street, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 22nd, 2007. 381169

If this is the Bill Mann I looked after at the Gorge Road Hospital and I think it is, he left a lasting wonderful impression on me. I truly liked and admired this man. We had a lot of fun and he made my job a joy.
