William Paul Barr MCCOLL

MCCOLL, William Paul Barr June 13th, 1921 - November 4th, 2012 Bill was born in Scotland and came to Canada at the age of 2 years. He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Betty, his daughter, Susan and his brother, David. He is survived by his two grandsons, Paul and Todd Rozell; his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Dane and Devin and his very dear friend, Jane Dohan. He graduated from Esquimalt High School and very shortly after that joined the Armed Forces (Army) in 1939. He went overseas in 1941 serving in England and France. He returned to England from France and graduated from Sandhurst College as a Commissioned Officer. On returning to Canada at war's end, he joined the Mutual Life of Canada and remained with them for 44 years. He was a Charter Member of the Camosun Gyro Club (1949) and an Honorary Member of the Seniors Northwest Golf Association. He was also a life member of Victoria Golf Club and a Wall of Fame Member of Royal Colwood Golf Club. Although golf was his passion, he loved his great family dearly. As a winner of many golf championships, he has now gone golfing- Cheers and Fore!!! A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Church, 1701 Elgin Road, Oak Bay on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow at Victoria Golf Club.
