William Moore Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William F. Moore (Bill) on July 20, 2025. Born in Selukwe, Rhodesia, Bill attended Queens University Belfast ("the Queens") achieving his engineering degree and playing field hockey for the university before immigrating to Canada in 1951. After working on construction jobs in Northern Quebec and Ontario, Bill came west to work on the Kitimat construction project. In Kitimat he met his beloved wife Elizabeth (Betty) and Kitimat was home on a repeated basis for many years. After working for Alcan (Rio Tinto) Bill enjoyed other adventures including Quintette Coal and Craigmont Mines. In 1990, Bill and Betty moved to Victoria and enjoyed being surrounded by their family. Bill also got to fully enjoy his passion for golf becoming a member of Uplands. An avid golfer all his life the family believes that Bill has now found the perfect putter and is working on his hole-in-one. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth he is survived by his daughters Joan Easton (Douglas) and Susan Moore and his granddaughter Elspeth Easton. Bill will be missed by his family, his golf partners and his friends. A celebration of Bill's life will take place at Uplands Golf Course, August 19, 2025 from 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Hospice.
