Edward Rumohr Obituary

Ed, loving husband of the late of Muriel Jean (nee Henderson), is cherished and survived by his four children (Lynnell, Brian, Gordon and Dorianne), nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A proud WW2 veteran, Ed entered the Merchant Marines as a young man and returned home to sail the inside passage with the Princess Steamship line. He embarked on a teaching and professional music career earning his B.Ed from UBC (1971) and his M.Ed from U of Portland (1979) and retired in 1991 as Chief of Counselling Development for Employment and Immigration.

Along his list of accomplishments Ed was a professional Organist and a 66 year member of the Vancouver Musicians Association; he performed as a church Organist, at numerous sporting events, supper clubs and banquet halls. As a proud member of the original Vancouver Canucks, having come into the NHL in 1970 as their organist, he remained a fervent Canuck fan.

A lifelong Vancouverite, Ed enjoyed an active and independent life and nestled in the enclave of North Vancouver he passed away peacefully at 90 years of age.

A special thank you to residents and staff Cedar Springs, where he so enjoyed living the last 2 years.

Memorial Service will be held June 30, 11:00 at West Vancouver Presbyterian Church.
