Nadine Georgina Lois GONZALES

GONZALES, Nadine Georgina Lois (nee Josephson) Sunrise: February 10, 1930 – Sunset: April 25, 2015 It is with deep sadness we advise of the passing of our dear respected elder Nadine Georgina Lois Gonzales. Nadine was born to Cecelia Parker in Brakendale, BC she proudly descended from both Squamish and Hawaiian heritage. Following a tremendous battle Nadine passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2015 – she was 85 years young. She was surrounded by love of close family and friends. Nadine and her late husband Harvey dedicated their lives to those in recovery and aided many and countless families towards better living. She worked 25 plus years as Squamish Nations' National Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Councillor. Together with her husband and support of the Paul family the Andy Paull House – Recovery Home (1981 – 1984) was founded. Ladies on the North Shore will remember her well from local Bingo Halls and fundraisers for special projects. Nadine will be missed by her loving children Geraldine 'Cookie' Proctor, Michael Gene Haggarty, Adam Edward Haggarty, Nadine Marlene Lorraine Dick, Patrick Henry Haggarty (Cathy), Jacqueline 'Jackie' Norma Gonzales (Frank), Jerome 'Jerry' Gonzales, Danny Arthur Smith (Ginger), Janine Ethel Gonzales, Dwayne Simeon, Stewart Norman Gonzales, Norma Lee Brooks, Victor Andrew Guerrero; brother Henry Vike and sister Alvida Groff. There will be a funeral service held at St. Paul's Indian Catholic Church, 424 West Esplanade Road, North Vancouver, BC on April 29, 2015 (Wednesday) at 2:00 pm.
