Ivan Podnar

PODNAR, Ivan . With heavy hearts and much sorrow we announce the passing of Ivan Podnar, on November, 30, 2013. He was born October 23, 1940 in Gornji Kosinj, Lika, Croatia. He is survived by his loving wife Dragica of 49 years, son, Milan (Brenda), son, Joso (Nada), son, Braco (Mary-Ellen), daughter, Anita (Jordan). Grandchildren: Aidan, Logan, Justin, Jason and Manda. His Brother Anton and family, as well as numerous other family members in both Canada and Croatia. Ivan left Croatia in 1974 to provide a better life for his family. He worked for The City of Vancouver, Parks Board for 25 years. Gardening was his pride and joy. He enjoyed family time, and his long walks. He will be sorrowly missed by many. A prayer will be held on Thursday December 5th, 2013 at 7:30pm; followed by funeral mass on Friday, December 6th at 11:00am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish. 3105 East 1st Ave, Vancouver, BC. Burial will be at Ocean View Funeral Home Friday December 6th at 12:45pm, "heavens gate". Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please donate to the BC Cancer Society.
