Joy Appleby Obituary

AKA Royann McFarlan

Mom passed away with her daughter Lynne by her side. Born in Birmingham to Walter & Jessie. She would reminisce about the Cadbury chocolate factory & the real “Christopher Robin”. She met her husband Peter at nursing school and married in June, 1957. She is survived by her 4 daughters River (Connie) BC, Lynne (Guy) BC, Stephanie (Tim) NS & Tracy (Mike) BC, grandchildren Danica, Ben, Luc, Reece, Beau, Bevan, Riley, Tahlia and great grandchildren Keely & Aaron. Joy & Peter moved their family to Manitoba in March, 1967 completely unprepared for Canadian weather but ready to start a new life. She always loved theatre, singing and dancing and was involved with the Rainbow Stage & Actor`s Showcase in Winnipeg. In 1980 she moved to Vancouver to start another new adventure. She became a Reiki master and volunteered at Dr. Peter`s Center for more than 10 years. She performed in Tony & Tina`s wedding and loved playing her drum in the Carnival Band. A memorial was held on Lake Thomas in Nova Scotia near her beloved boathouse. Her life was celebrated with floating lanterns, singing, dancing, flowers & champagne. Sail away mom...

Frank and I spent many Christmases with Lynne, Guy and family in which Joy would be an enlightening part of the celebration in the singing of Christmas carols She was a wonderful singer and her daughter Lynne has the same talent. I also loved her hats she would wear.
Our deepest sympathies to all of her family
