Mary MacArthur Obituary
Mary died peacefully at VGH, at the age of 101. Mary was born in Cassidy on Vancouver Island, the eldest of three daughters. Mary started working early on as a housekeeper, cook and caregiver in Victoria, Vancouver and on the Sunshine Coast. She continued to do so into her 70's. She was proud of her Scottish heritage and was a long-time member of the Sons of Scotland, in the Royal Scot and Glamis Camps in Vancouver. Mary loved her flower garden and loved to be productive - especially with her knitting and crocheting. Mary is predeceased by her sister Emily and her husbands Neil MacArthur (1979) and Robert Young (2000). She is survived by her youngest sister Margaret Morris and will also be missed by her nieces and nephews and many friends and relations in Canada, Scotland, England, Australia and New Zealand. Donations to the BC Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service to be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at First Memorial Funeral Home, 602 Kingsway, Vancouver (telephone 604-876-5585).
