Michael Pickett Obituary

Most beloved son of John and Linda; brother of Ed (Karin) and Karen (Terry); and life-partner of Catherine. Loving uncle to Jackie, Lindsay, Kellen, and Tyler and close cousin to Darcy.

He was a true friend, gentle-hearted animal rescuer and nature lover, keen yoga and gym enthusiast, brilliant cook, hard-working city worker, epic North Shore hiker and world traveller.

*Dearest Mike, you are missed every second. Your life gave meaning to ours, and we will hold you in our hearts forever. Love you to the ends of the earth and the skies, always.*

Mike, although we didn't stay I touch, I thought of you often. I remember your face that time I forgot to clip-in and you got a faster ride down to earth from the top of the climbing wall than you wanted. I remember when you took me to one of my first yoga classes and how enthusiastic you were about it. I remember the delicious green curry you cooked. I'll miss all of this Mikes. May there be many orphaned kittens named Mike' in your honour.

Hey Cousin Mike
You have a special spot all your own in the Williams Lake Memory Garden. Your Hummingbird sundial is erected thanks to Brian's efforts. I visited yesterday it looks nice and I think you would approve. My stepdaughter Jo will be painting the base with hummingbirds come spring. The last we chatted I heard about your travels to Asia. Loved Always Now and Forever xoxo.

We miss you in this world, Mike. Walk on, brother, to the spirit world, with our love to guide your way. You were a warrior in this life, and you have become the Orca, swimming in the ocean of our tears - a beacon in spirit, calling us to make our short time here meaningful. I will always hear your great belly laugh in my mind and have you, Cate, and your family in my heart and prayers to the Creator.
