Ruth F. Chambers

November 25, 1915 - November 02, 2016

Our beloved mom, gramma, GG, Auntie, 'Dougie', and friend passed peacefully on November 2, 2016, three weeks shy of her 101st birthday. Born in Vancouver, BC to the late Henry & Emma Barnett (nee DeBroder) and raised in Mission BC, Ruth spent her formative years exploring the hills around Mount Mary Ann and working on the family homestead. Ruth returned to Vancouver after marrying her true love, Charlie Chambers (1917-2000), welcoming son Dan in 1951. Predeceased by Charlie and sisters Berna and Miriam, Ruth will be dearly missed by son Dan, granddaughters Kristine (Kris), Kari and Katy, great-grandchildren Timothy, Jacob and Ellie, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Ruth's two caregivers and the staff at VGH. Ruth never faltered from the positive attitude she always embodied and the cheeky sense of humour she maintained to the end. She was a loving wife, mother, friend, and sister and was devoted to her faith in the Truth. A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, November 25th at 2:00pm at First Memorial Boal Chapel and Gardens: 1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver, BC.
