BROWN, Terence Horton October 7, 1921 - December 23, 2018 Terry was born in the Manitoulin Islands, Ontario and passed in North Vancouver, BC. Terry lived in the Dunbar area in a home he and his wife Irma bought from 1961-2016. He was predeceased by his wife Irma in 2011 and his grandson Robert Brown in 2001. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Rosa Brown, grand- daughters Jessica Brown and Jennifer (Fraser) Crosbie and great grandsons Domenic and Anthony Crosbie; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and John Kelvin, grandsons Andrew (Sarah) and great grandson Izaak Kelvin, Neal (Gillian) Kelvin and Craig Kelvin. Also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Al and Peggy Brown and many nieces and nephews. A WWII veteran, he served in the navy on the frigate HMS New Glasgow in the North Atlantic. After the war he attended UBC where he was a member of the first Pharmacy class to graduate from UBC. He received his Masters and PhD from the University of Washington. He was the first UBC Pharmacy grad to be hired to teach in the UBC Faculty of Pharmacy and taught there until he retired in 1986. He was always up for an adventure and constantly trying to improve his already brilliant mind. He was a kind and gentle soul with a wicked sense of humour which stayed with him until the very end. Special thanks to Shirley Gorrell for always being there for him, Dr. Amy Weber for her support and the exemplary staff of Sunrise Senior Living of Lynn Valley. A Celebration of Terry's life will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Seymour Golf and Country Club, 3723 Mount Seymour Parkway, North Vancouver.
