. WEIR, Thomas Nelson FEB. 10, 1928 - NOV. 4, 2013 . Of 4488 Cambie Street, and recently of Cavell Gardens, passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital after a brief illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Lois Appleton of Taber, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews as well as close friends. Predeceased by his parents Robert Earl and Mildred (McKnight) Weir; his life partner Dr. Chester Braaten; his brothers Bob and Bill Weir; his sister Vivian Taylor, Alice (Ally) Mae Weir, Violet Williams and Margaret Belliveau. He was known for his enjoyment of the Arts and his love and knowledge of antiques. At Tom's request there will be no service; however those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 306 East 11 Ave. Vancouver on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm . In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Tom's memory. His cremated remains will be interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Melfort, Saskatchewan alongside his life partner. . Mount Pleasant Funeral Home 604-876-2161

I so regret not knowing you after I grew up! I do remember you when I was just a very young child when you & your friend came to visit us at the ranch by the river...but you left a wonderful, lasting impression on me and I will miss you.

Uncle Tom, I was glad we were able to meet once, but that one time left a liftime memory of you. Glad we were also able to talk a few times on the phone. You will be missed by all your nieces and nephews.
