Grace Murchie Obituary
Grace Melba Murchie's (Nee Seegmiller) family is saddened to announce her passing on December 12, 2022. She will be affectionately remembered by her five children, Mary Joanne Carrabre and husband Patrick Carrabre, William (Jimmy) James Murchie and wife Jo-Ann Murchie, Betty Jean Tenge and husband Donald Tenge, Carolyn Jane Giese and partner Steve Woloschiniwsky, and Alexander David (Sandy) Murchie as well as her grandchildren, Joanna, Brandy Lynn, Jesse, Gillian, Ariel, Jordan, Sarah, Shallyn, Liam, Lauren and Daniel.
Grace was a fabulous cook at a time when the culinary arts world was relatively unknown to typical households. You can imagine how hard it was to find artichokes in Thompson Manitoba back in the 80s! She loved a good laugh, was fiercely independent and had a deep appreciation for music and culture.
An avid gardener and nature lover, Grace spent her retirement years on Salt Spring Island playing golf, curling, cross-country skiing and travelling.
Grace was predeceased by her brother, Robert Seegmiller.
Interment will be held on Saturday, May 27th, at 11:00am, at the Lakeview Cemetery 1016 Colborne Road, Sarnia, ON. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a Charity of Your Choice.
