Deepest sympathies on the loss of Dr Chan to Pearl and the rest of the family.
I first met Dr Chan over forty years ago when he was helping to teach tai chi at one of the local schools. I admired his form and very much appreciated his volunteering his time, as well as his clear and patient teaching style. I still practice the form he taught me and I am forever grateful.
I later became a patient of his and found him to be an excellent dentist; he was knowledgeable, skillful, painstaking and considerate. I also enjoyed our short chats after the appointments - usually on tai chi / qigong or travel. I will miss him.

My condolences to Dr Chan's family on the loss of this dear man. Dr Chan was my dentist for over 12 years and showed so much kindness and compassion for my needs. I am so sorry not to be able to see him again or to say good bye to a sweet man. May he always be remembered for the kind, caring, man he was.

The Toronto alumni association of Dr. David Chan's high school in Hong Kong (St. Paul's College) likes to send our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. David had been an active and fun loving member of our association for many years. We will never forget his smiles in our dinner functions. He enjoyed talking about the olds days in our school. He was a honoured Prefect in 1963-64. We will miss him very much.

I assisted Dr Chan for 1 year at a dental clinic in St Catharines. I was placed with him as a punishment for him and I, since the dentist who ran the clinic didnt like either one of us. Turned out that we got along just fine. He taught me about dentistry and I taught him about family life. When I left due to having a child, he gave me a beautiful set of glasses that my husband and I bring out every year at Christmas. I will always have fond memories of the time that I worked with him. Please accept my deepest condolences. I would have liked to see him again.

Dr. Chan was a wonderful dentist and a lovely man. I went to him for over 40 years. People always spoke about how bad root canals were and I never understood because with Dr. Chan any root canals I had were painless. For 40+ years he was the only one who did my cleaning and check ups and any work that was needed. A couple of years ago I was surprised by an hygienist doing the cleaning. When Dr. Chan walked in for the check up I said, "Slacking off eh?" It made him laugh. He did have a good sense of humour. He will be missed.
Our sincerest condolences to all of his family. May he rest in peace.

I first met Dr. Chan in 1974 when we were both working at a downtown St. Catharines dental office. He eventually became our family dentist. He was a quiet man with a quick smile and a dedicated dental professional. He will be missed . Sincere condolences to Pearl and his family.

Dr Chan was a wonderful dentist. He was always so careful, thorough & professional. As a nervous patient, I had complete confidence in him. I have missed his skilled attention.

I will miss David (Dr. Chan as we always called him). I had the pleasure of working with him at his St. Catharines office. He really was passionate about dentistry; one of the last 'old school' dentists. I always enjoyed having a laugh over lunch with him; one of the few people I actually enjoyed talking politics with! It was always great to hear about his trips to Hong Kong and Australia. My only regret was not meeting him and working with him sooner! May he rest in peace. Thinking of Pearl and the family at this time.
