Carla Murrary Obituary

Carla Murray
Carla Marie Murray, late of White Bear Lake Resort, SK passed away on January 24, 2024 at the age of 58 years. Carla was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Vera Murray; and her brother Robert Murray. Carla is survived by her husband Stephen Bird; her sons: Rob (Courtney) McClinton and family [Sam and Rose], Zac (Melissa) McClinton; brothers: Pat (Jenny) Murray and their son Tas, Ken (Glenda) Murray; as well as numerous friends. Carla Marie Murray, born on June 24, 1965, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and tireless dedication to others. The beloved daughter of the late Vera and Sam Murray of Weyburn, Carla, as the only daughter and a late addition to the family, forged enduring friendships early on, and these companionships remained steadfast throughout her entire life. On August 3, 2002, Carla found her soulmate in Stephen Bird, and they exchanged vows at the cottage they later called home at White Bear Lake Resort, Saskatchewan. Their union was blessed with the joy of raising two sons, Samuel (Rob) McClinton and Zac McClinton and helping Steve serve his country in the Air Force at air bases across Canada. Carla's life was marked by a profound commitment to others, evident in her roles as a farmer, homemaker, and passionate champion for veterans. In her retirement years, she dedicated herself to finding support and healing for veterans grappling with the physical and mental wounds of their service. Her boundless compassion extended beyond her advocacy work, shaping her role as a caring mother, wife and grandmother. Carla's devotion to her family knew no bounds. From raising their two sons to more recently delighting in the company of their grandchildren, Sam and Rose, she immersed herself in nurturing the bonds of family. Whether engaged in playful dress-up sessions, making silly faces or imparting a love for food and cards, Carla created a haven of fun, warmth and love for her family. In addition to her tireless advocacy and family commitments, Carla found joy in simple pleasures. She embraced the company of friends, savored good bottles of wine, reveled in rambunctious card games, and wove tales that brought laughter to all. Carla's green thumb found expression in vibrant gardens, and her shared recipes became a testament to her love for creating culinary delights. Carla Marie Murray, predeceased by her parents Sam and Vera, brother Robert, and niece Kim Murray, leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with kindness, love, and an unwavering spirit. Details of the memorial service and celebration of Carla's life will be shared with friends and family in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Wounded Warriors Weekend Foundation, Box 2666, Nipawin, SK, S0E 1E0, an organization close to Carla's heart. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy inspire acts of kindness and compassion in the lives she touched. we miss you every day, those phone calls were always a treat. Your memories of our folks were quite different as you were17 years younger than I. Amazing things we learned about them from each other. I wish it could have gone on much longer. People talk of the sorrow of our loss, but we were the lucky ones. We had you as a part of our lives and we got to be a part of yours. Thank you Sis.
