Celeste MANNING Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Southlake Village on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in her 95th year.
Loving wife of the late David John for 61 years. Beloved mother of Mark (Susane), Brad (Svetlana), Cathy (Daniel) McGrath, and the late John and Maurice. Proud grandmother of 11 wonderful grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Bernadette Catalano, and predeceased by sisters Patricia Sheppard, Rosemary St. Pierre, Joanna McDonald, Theresa Friedmann, Maura Harris, and Gloria Baker. Daughter of the late Loretta and Maurice Traynor.
Celeste (Celestine) graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in London, Ontario in 1950. Following graduation, she worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, Sarnia General Hospital, and then at York Manor for many years. Celeste loved travelling and volunteering; and was a member of the CWL for many years. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Southlake Village.
Friends may call at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home (157 Main St S, Newmarket) on Friday, May 5th from 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish (17955 Leslie St, Newmarket) on Saturday, May 6th at 11 a.m. A reception will take place at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home following mass.
In honour of Celeste, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
