Stephen Schmidt Obituary
On June 30th, 2022, Stephen Rowland ("Steve") Schmidt passed away in his 81st year in the palliative care unit in the city of Brantford. By his side was Lois, wife of 59 years. Dearly missed by his son, Jeffery (Dana, "best daughter-in-law"); grandchildren Bryce, Madelyn, Joel, and Noah. Predeceased by his sons, Bruce and Brian, and his brother, John (Louise).
Steve dedicated decades of his career with Markham Fire Department, providing services for the citizens of Markham, ending his career as a Fire Captain on Markham Main Street. He worked with the Markham Fair for over 30 years. Steve was loved by those who knew him; he was a hardworking, providing man; he always liked to tell a good joke and had a witty, grumpy sense of humour.
Friends and family were received for a memorial service at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Juravinski Cancer Centre. Condolences and donations may be left at dixongarland.com.

Sorry to hear about Steve. Steve will be remebered mostly for his kindness and sense of humor. Steve was an exception to the norm and in a very good way!
